When Chick-Fil-A needed a better way to fill online delivery and catering orders, they reached out to us for assistance in turning their concept into a reality.
Restaurants are finding the current online food ordering model disruptive to restaurant managers, employees and in-house customers. Chick-Fil-A was determined to find a solution that would effectively serve both in-house and online customers. Their answer was to create one large, central fulfillment center exclusively dedicated to filling delivery and catering orders. This idea would be the first of its kind anywhere in the world.
From conception, we were brought in to help with this project. We met with corporate leadership and local operators through several sets of drawings. We helped find the perfect location; originally a call center, the Charlotte Ave. location was central to downtown Nashville and offered the best space.
This extreme design-build was not traditional. We were ultimately creating a one-of-its-kind, giant kitchen! We remained flexible and adaptable as the Chick-Fil-A team worked through the ordering process to determine the needs for this innovative space. From number of fryers and refrigerators, additional and specially designed counter tops fit to fill large orders, and other equipment that needed to be added, we worked with them every step of the way to ensure their vision was met.
The new dedicated delivery location, opened October 2018, is now able to fill large number of online delivery and catering orders each day. This will relieve restaurant managers and their employees to 100% refocus on in-store customers.
